Bright Beginnings Panmure
Our Beautiful childcare centre in Panmure for children aged 0-5 years located at 8 Kings Road, Panmure, Auckland.
The centre is licensed for 70 children, with a license for 15 children under two years of age and 55 children over 2 years of age . The children at the centre have the opportunity to spend time in the Manuka Room ( 0-2 years), Kowhai Room ( 2 – 3 and half years) and Pohutakawa Room ( 3 and half to 5 years).
The teaching team is strongly inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. Our center environment is very unique and acts as the third teacher for the child. The educators encourage open ended learning through provocations they provide within the centre environment. The identity of the capable and competent learner is visible throughout the centre. Strong relationships with children and their whanau are fostered and we actively work towards engaging with the community.
Projects are explored as vehicles of learning. These projects originate from children’s conversations, ongoing interests and open ended provocations. We welcome you into our new learning space !!! Feel free to call and speak with our friendly team at our Panmure Childcare Centre now to book a visit.
Children’s Learning and Events: As we begin a new year, our educators have been planning the events and celebrations that will be providing learning experiences for our children. We have noticed over the previous year that our children have a passion for culture, community and animals. This became apparent to the educators through learning experiences which included ideas such as learning how to look after our gardens and grow vegetables, turning trash and recycled goods into treasure, how to approach dogs in public safely, swimming and fire safety, and library trips for knowledge and experiences on different cultures. Due to children’s developing knowledge in these areas, educators felt it was important to continue moving forward and encourage children to continue to extend this learning. Educators have agreed that celebrating culture is extremely valuable and have therefore planned events and learning experiences that link into our events of Waitangi day, Lantern festival, Matariki, Pacifica language month and Diwali. The team have also acknowledged the children’s growing community awareness and love for animals by planning events and learning experiences such as NZ wildlife day, NZ music month and Universal children’s day. The team has also planned to invite community role models in to the centre each term to help us get hands on with everything from animals to transport and culture to careers options.
Behind the scenes: Every year a centre must undergo a Self Review (internal research) on ways to improve planned areas of our strategic plan (A centre’s three year plan and goals). This year, we will be focusing on transitions. This will include research, policy changes and new pedagogy approaches to improve how our children move between home and the centre, between each classroom and from preschool to school. Parents will be encouraged to give feedback both verbally and via team leader feedback interviews. The results of each self review are always available for viewing at the centre or presented at our Parent teacher Evenings each year.
