About Our Educational Centres
Bright Beginnings Early Learning Centres are vibrant, well-established childcare centres for children whose parents want to give them the best start on their preschool learning centre journey.
Our early learning centres provide hundreds of young Kiwis with a stimulating, unique and natural environment within which to learn, by incorporating the Reggio Emilia approach into teaching and learning. Our children engage in experiences that they help plan and implement.
Bright Beginnings Early Learning Centre has been operating childcare centres since April 2012, when they opened their first centre licensed for 25 children in Glendowie, Auckland. Then opening its Panmure centre in 2016, Mt Roskill in 2017, Hamilton in early 2020, and Howick childcare centre in late-2020. All centres have been purpose-built for children.
Meet Our Team
Nikita
Kia ora, I’m Nikita, Centre Director, and I love helping children learn and grow at our unique early learning centres.
I have extensive teaching, management and quality assurance experience, both within India and New Zealand, having moved to New Zealand with my husband and children in 2003. I have a Bachelor of Science from India and a Bachelor of Education ECE from Auckland University.
A key focus for me is working closely with our teachers, on a daily basis, to ensure we are delivering a great service to our children and parents. I am also personally involved with roll management, marketing and Ministry of Education compliance within the centres.
The concept of family is a strong part of our heritage, and our family works together to provide services to our extended family – the children and parents at our childcare centres.

How do the children learn?
Although Bright Beginnings Early Learning Centre uses some traditional learning strategies, our children mainly learn through the following vehicles:
Project/inquiry-based learning
Where children work on projects, often for prolonged periods, due to the unexpected direction a project can move to - including through a child’s immense inquiring mind. Projects give children the opportunity to make connections between what they know and what more can they learn about topics. Hence in its true sense, a project is considered a vehicle of learning. The centre environment strongly reflects our inspiration – The Reggio Emilia philosophy, from Reggio Emilia, Italy.
An environment that encourages learning
Our early learning centres encourage learning through the following environmental factors.
Diversity and multi-culturalism:
- Our centres reflect broad diversity and multi-culturalism, through the children themselves and through the centres’ diverse imagery.
- Our centres operate under the umbrella of Te Whaariki, the New Zealand early childhood curriculum.
- Onsite chefs prepare hot and nutritious meals for the children, incorporating the various cultures of the families.
Teacher-child, child-parent and teacher-parent interactions:
- Interactions are key to ensuring an effective learning process. Like the old proverb says – ‘It takes a village to raise a child.
Unique resources:
- Teachers skilfully support children’s learning through meaningful experiences.
- A special characteristic of the centres is the artefacts, recycled material and unique resources that are used throughout the learning process. Our resources encourage the centre environments to be the third teacher for the children. New Zealand’s natural richness is well utilised in day to day learning.
- Detailed portfolios and Storypark portfolios reflect the child’s learning. Families often contribute to the child’s development through their portfolios, through open discussions and through parent evenings.
All children over 4 years of age participate in a multifaceted Transition to School program, which is designed in conjunction with the local schools.
Sessions, short days and full days are the options for enrolment available.
