About Our Panmure Bright Beginnings Early Learning Centre
Bright Beginnings Early Learning Centre is a proud nature-based Reggio Emilia inspired and purpose-built centre licensed for 70 children. It is located close to Panmure Basin and is a 5-minute drive from Panmure train station.
We provide real life and authentic experiences to children where they develop deep appreciation, love and kaitiakitanga towards our natural world. Natural patterns of playing and learning and the joy of wonder and curiosity are fostered through our responsive care curriculum.

Our Rooms and Environment
Our room for babies under two years of age has a maximum occupancy of 15 and is aesthetically laid out for children to explore through their senses in a nurturing environment.
For our children over 2 years of age, the area is divided into toddlers and preschool rooms having a total maximum occupancy of 55 children, and provides a range of age-appropriate and carefully set out sensory experiences for them to participate in.
Manuka Room (0 to 2 years)
Our Manuka room is a special place for our precious under 2’s. A room filled with the smiles of busy babies inquiring into their curiosities to make their own discoveries and learn through play. The kaiako (teachers) keep a close watch to guide when they must.
The Manuka room is a second home for our tamariki (children) as we ensure to follow their rhythms and routines they have at home. Our Manuka room is licensed for up to 15 babies who are assigned a key educator upon enrolment to help them settle into their new learning environment.
Kowhai Room (2 to 3.5 years)
The aim of Kowhai Room is to provide a safe and comfortable environment where our little ones can feel “at home” and we value their “toddler moments”. We are licensed for up to 55 children in our over 2’s area. There are 55 children split between the Kowhai and Pohutukawa rooms who work closely together to monitor, teach and nurture each child in our care.
We believe the toddler age-group is the period that children are developing their identities as autonomous learners through rapidly building their physical, social, cognitive and language capacities. They need many opportunities to engage in rich and rewarding learning experiences with people, places and things.
Our Pohutukawa Room (3.5 to 5 years)
In the Pohutukawa Room we get our tamariki (children) ready for the next step in their learning journey; the transition into school. Children join our room at the age of 3.5 years and get to strengthen and build on core learning dispositions such as independence, self-regulation, self-expression, curiosity, responsibility, and many more that will help them in their smooth transition to school and the primary years.
Throughout the year, we embark and explore various long and short-term projects that derive from our tamariki interests, being their own creators and leaders within their own learning. We work closely with Kowhai room kaiako (teachers) and children, allowing us to create a strong bond with toddlers prior to them joining the Preschool room, and supporting their transition between classes.
Our Panmure Teaching Team
The educators encourage open-ended learning through provocations focussing on each child’s strengths and interests. The identity of the capable and competent learner is visible throughout the centre. Strong relationships with children and their Whānau are fostered, and we actively work towards engaging with the community.
Children develop and grow as confident and responsible learners in unhurried, calm, and safe spaces. Our highly skilled team of teachers are passionate and committed to providing quality care and education to young learners with respectful practice at the heart of everything they do.
