Bright Beginnings Panmure
Our Beautiful childcare centre in Panmure for children aged 0-5 years located at 8 Kings Road, Panmure, Auckland.
Come and talk to us about our current promotion.
The centre is licensed for 70 children, with a license for 15 children under two years of age and 55 children over 2 years of age . The children at the centre have the opportunity to spend time in the Manuka Room ( 0-2 years), Kowhai Room ( 2 – 3 and half years) and Pohutakawa Room ( 3 and half to 5 years).
The teaching team is strongly inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. Our centre environment is very unique and acts as the third teacher for the child. The educators encourage open ended learning through provocations they provide within the centre environment. The identity of the capable and competent learner is visible throughout the centre. Strong relationships with children and their whanau are fostered and we actively work towards engaging with the community.
Projects are explored as vehicles of learning. These projects originate from children’s conversations, ongoing interests and open ended provocations. We welcome you into our new learning space !!! Feel free to call and speak with our friendly team at our Panmure Childcare Centre now to book a visit.
What’s happening now:
We have been observing how our tamariki have become little guardians and developed a feeling of ownership towards their environment. Despite a very challenging year 2021, our children have developed their working theories around the 3 R’s (Reduce, Recycle and Reuse) using their innate curiosity and creativity. Our children’s photos from the lockdown period, that were most kindly shared by our whānau, suggested a deep sense of responsibility and kaitiakitanga or guardianship that they have cultivated towards the Papatūānuku.
This has prompted the kaiako and tamariki to further explore the value of self awareness within their environment. As an integrated community of learners, we propose the umbrella concept of “Identity” to be adopted by our Centre for the year 2022. As we traverse our learning journey together in the coming months, we would support our children’s interests in meaningful ways, focussing on the key value ‘Identity’ that will foster their sense of positive self worth, learning identities within their environment and support their development in local contexts.
We firmly believe in designing a curriculum based on interests of our tamariki and whānau aspirations for their children. We thank our parents, who have so generously shared artefacts from their culture during the Mat Time with us. This has provided us with a perfect opportunity to let children explore each other’s socio-cultural backgrounds, strengthen their identities, and gain a deeper understanding of Who We Are.
In the Manuka Room, the young explorers are also building their self-awareness by being active helpers, helping out their teachers and peers while in the Pohutukawa and Kowhai Rooms, they are developing self-help skills and sharing their interests from the home.
As we brace for the winter months, our children are in awe of the autumn leaves with a myriad of colours. They are observing trees shed leaves of different hues and have plenty of information to share with their peers and educators. We aim to further stimulate their natural curiosity and imagination, and foster their natural sense of self in relation to the natural world. We are closely working with our parents to share their ideas with kaiako as we venture to explore the autumn leaves with our tamariki and cultivate their sense of connectedness with nature.
