Happy New year and welcome back
We are super excited to have all our Bright Beginnings family back together to tackle a new year of learning, changes and growth. This year, we are doing a research/inquiry with the tamariki on our environment and their understanding of nature, sustainability and the world around them. At the same time we the kaiako also would like to inculcate learning in every child’s experiences and how best we can implement this in our practice. During this stage everyone will be developing their knowledge of how best to introduce practical sustainability with our tamariki. Central to this learning is the exploration of attitudes, values and behaviors with respect to the environment – both our own and those of others.
Our Whanaungatanga (relationships) will be strengthened as it was in the past during difficult times; this value is the essential glue that binds us together, providing the foundation for a sense of unity, belonging and cohesion. We will be encouraging our whanau to join us in through giving feedback, sharing their skills and engaging in verbal/written korero.
In the meantime the tamariki are enjoying settling back into their daily rhythm, catching up with peers and enjoying the summer and exchanging past experiences during the Kirihimete (Christmas) break. We are thankful to have everyone back happy, healthy and ready to learn.
